May 12, 2025 — Kinneret Council on Aging (KCOA), an area non-profit that provides life enhancing resources to the over 300 residents of Kinneret Apartments and to seniors living outside that community, has expanded the scope of its activities even further.

Additional onsite activities include a monthly nutrition class provided by the Second Harvest Food Bank, and weekly English and semi-weekly Spanish classes. Fresh fruit and vegetables, canned items and protein are now available twice a month through KCOA’s new partnership with 4Roots Farm.

Over 50 residents celebrated Purim with a festival of song and dance. Led by Cantor Nina Fine, residents acted out the story of Purim with groggers and much revelry. Traditional hamantaschen was served along with additional food and drinks. Another 40 residents observed Passover with a traditional Seder and the types of food that go with it. Once again Cantor Fine led the group in the telling of the Passover story, and in prayer, song and finding the afikomen.

Offsite excursions have been provided to residents as well. Among these were the UCF Healthy Aging Fair. Residents took part in health assessments and listened to talks on health and wellness. Through a partnership with Trinity Preparatory School, residents enjoyed taking in the play, “The Putnam County Spelling Bee.” They also were treated to a “Senior Prom,” equipped with prom pictures and two lucky residents being crowned King and Queen.
