September 10, 2026, Orlando, Florida — Kinneret Council on Aging (KCOA), a nonprofit organization serving more than 300 residents of Kinneret Apartments, an independent, low-income senior housing community in downtown Orlando, announced the expansion of its senior programming in Central Florida.

In 2025, KCOA partnered with the Rosen JCC to launch KCOA on the Road, a once-a-month speaker series designed to bring enrichment opportunities to seniors beyond the walls of Kinneret Apartments. Due to strong attendance and community demand, the program has now expanded to weekly sessions held every Thursday at the Rosen JCC, supported in part by a grant from the S’Firot Foundation.

Program topics include Smart Phone Tips &Tricks, Mindfulness and Meditation, Brain Rejuvenation, Emergency Preparedness, Armchair Travel to Italy, and more, providing seniors with meaningful social engagement, education, and connection. All programs are free of charge.

While expanding its regional reach, KCOA continues to provide essential services to residents of Kinneret Apartments. These include weekly grocery bags filled with food, twice-weekly full breakfasts, and a subsidized optional daily meal delivery service. For many residents, these programs help prevent the difficult choice between purchasing medication or food. Additional offerings include weekly exercise classes, health and wellness initiatives such as regular visits from the UCF Mobile Health Unit, birthday celebrations, game days, musical performances, and Jewish holiday and ritual programs open to all faiths.

“The S’Firot Foundation grant has allowed us to grow our programming in the Central Florida senior community, providing much-needed social interaction and enrichment,” said Neal Blaher, President of KCOA.
